What is the the truth? ‘The Christian Fight- Contending for the truth’
Theme Verse: Jude 1:3 – “Contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.”
Purpose: Equipping Christians to defend biblical truth against cultural, religious, and theological distortions.
Session 1
What is the Christian Worldview?
- Defining a biblical worldview (Colossians 2:8, Romans 12:2).
- The authority of Scripture as the foundation of truth.
- Core tenets of the Christian worldview: God, Creation, Sin, Salvation, and Eternity.
- How the Christian worldview shapes ethics, morality, and daily living.
Why it matters: Many believers unknowingly hold secular or contradictory beliefs. This session grounds attendees in biblical truth.
Session 2
The Christian Worldview vs. Islam
- Who is God? Trinity vs. Tawhid (Islamic monotheism).
- Who is Jesus? Son of God vs. mere prophet.
- Salvation: Grace through faith in Christ vs. works-based salvation in Islam.
- The Bible vs. the Quran: Differences in revelation and authority.
- Practical strategies for engaging Muslims with love and truth (1 Peter 3:15).
Why it matters: Islam is one of the fastest-growing religions, and Christians must know how to engage in meaningful dialogue.
Session 3
The Christian Worldview vs. Hinduism & New Age Beliefs
- Hinduism & New Age: Many gods vs. one true God (Isaiah 45:5).
- Karma & Reincarnation vs. Grace & Eternal Life: Contrasting salvation in Christianity and Hindu thought.
- Pantheism vs. a Personal God: Why biblical theism provides hope and purpose.
- How New Age ideas (energy healing, manifesting, astrology) are creeping into the church.
- How to witness to Hindus and New Agers effectively.
Why it matters: Many in the West are adopting Hindu/New Age ideas without realizing their contradiction to Christianity.
Session 4
Progressive Christianity – How It’s Not Biblically Based
- What is Progressive Christianity?
- Rejecting biblical authority.
- Emphasizing “love” while ignoring holiness and repentance.
- Denying Christ’s atonement as necessary for salvation.
- Why it’s dangerous:
- Redefining sin and affirming cultural morality over biblical truth.
- Undermining the deity of Christ and the inerrancy of Scripture.
- Promoting universalism (all paths lead to God).
- How to respond to Progressive Christianity: Standing firm in biblical doctrine while engaging with love.
Why it matters: Many churches are shifting away from biblical Christianity, leading people into deception
